Description
The Arduino Portenta Vision Shield Ethernet is an "addon" board that provides Machine Vision capabilities and additional connectivity to Arduino's Portenta family of boards.
This hardware complement, designed to meet the needs of industrial automation, allows you to run embedded computer vision programs and has an Ethernet connection for connection to the Arduino Cloud or your own infrastructure.
The Vision Shield is designed to work with Arduino Portenta H7 boards. These Portenta cards feature 32-bit multicore ARM® Cortex® processors with speeds in the hundreds of megahertz, several megabytes of memory, WiFi and Bluetooth® connectivity. Buy this Shield together with a Portenta H7 (if you don't already have one).
Arduino has teamed up with OpenMV to offer a free license for the OpenMV IDE. A simple way to enter the world of computer vision using MicroPython as a programming paradigm. Download the 'OpenMV for Arduino' editor, try the examples already there and build applications with QR code reading, detection, filtering and classification of images, etc.
If your project is not working correctly, connect your Portenta H7 to a professional debugger via the JTAG connector (20-pin, provided by this board) and use professional software tools such as those from Lauterbach or Segger to debug your code step by step.

● A 320x320 pixel camera sensor: use one of your Portenta's cores to run image recognition algorithms using the OpenMV for Arduino editor.
● A 100Mbps Ethernet connector: Connect your Portenta H7 to the Internet via a LAN cable.
● Two built-in microphones for directional sound detection: Activate your system by detecting sound events or capture and analyze sound in real time.
● JTAG Connector: Perform low-level debugging of your Portenta board or special firmware updates using an external programmer.
● SD-Card connector: store your captured data on the card or read configuration files.
● Two high-density connectors for simple connection to a Portenta H7, with minimal hardware and software configuration.
